About Gary Evident Counsellor in Brighton and Hove
I qualified as a counsellor from Brighton University in 2004, and have been accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) , the largest regulating body for counsellors in the United Kingdom, since 2009. Accreditation requires that I undertake extensive and regular continuing professional development, and I have completed a range of post-qualifying courses in Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural, Solution Focussed and Psychodynamic therapy. My practice is also increasingly influenced by mindfulness psychology and body focussing approaches that emphasis our day-to-day felt experience. I have regular supervision by a BACP accredited Supervisor who provides oversight of all my work with clients, and helps me maintain high professional standards.
I have personally benefitted from individual counselling, both short and long-term, on several occasions in my life. I feel that such experience is fundamental to how I am as a person, and how I work therapeutically with counselling clients.
