Counselling Fees in Brighton and Hove • Gary Evident Counselling

I offer an initial session for £ 15. This is a chance for us to meet and for you to tell me more about what may be troubling you. It is also a chance for you to ask me about my about my counselling approach, qualifications and experience to get a feel if that fits for you. There is no commitment beyond that initial meeting, and you can decide on the next step from there.

For subsequent meetings, I offer a sliding scale of £55 – £75 per 50 minute session. I trust you to choose a fee you feel you can afford within that scale, to reflect your income and ability to pay. The fee will be agreed at our first session. I may be able to offer a limited amount of counselling sessions at a lower price for those on a low income or benefits, although that will depend on availability.

Fees are payable

In cash at the end of the session, or on line by BACs payment, no more that 24 hours after each session.

Fee increase

Fees for individual counselling sessions are held for a minimum of 12 months from the date of our first meeting. I will give you four weeks notice of any fee increase.

Frequency

Counselling with me involves a weekly commitment at the same time and on the same day each week. With this in mind, it is important that you are able to accommodate and prioritise your counselling sessions in your weekly diary.

I have some flexibility to accommodate you at other times in the week depending on available space, although that would usually be an exception. Such needs could be discussed at our initial meeting and , as best possible, planned for.

Cancellations

Cancellations at less than than a week’s notice, or missed sessions without notice, are ordinarily charged at the full fee for the missed session. This is to reflect the fact that I hold and commit that time and space to you, which cannot be offered to another client. Planned holiday and other commitments can be accommodated within our weekly schedule, although I ask for at least a week’s notice. Frequent cancellations affect the nature and effectiveness of the therapeutic relationship and the benefits that you are likely to get from counselling. If that occurred, we would need to review our time and work together, and possibly draw it to a close.

Breaks

I take breaks of a week or two at regular intervals thoughout the year. I will give you plenty of notice when I plan to be away.
